Join us for a unique and inclusive experience on our queer-led bird walk, where nature meets community in a celebration of diversity. This guided bird walk will be led by 2S-LGBTQIA+ birding enthusiasts, offering a welcoming space for all to explore the beauty of local wildlife while connecting with others in a safe, supportive environment. Whether you’re a seasoned birdwatcher or a curious newcomer, this event is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about the fascinating world of birds and the natural spaces we share.
Throughout the walk, we’ll highlight the rich variety of bird species in the area, discussing their behaviors, habitats, and unique characteristics. This is more than just a nature walk; it’s an opportunity to embrace our identities, build friendships, and foster a sense of belonging within the outdoors.
Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and leave with new connections and a deeper appreciation for both the birds and the vibrant queer community around you. All are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Let’s soar together!
Walk led by:
Jean works as a biologist, and enjoys a variety of “nature nerding”, including birding.

May 26th - Queer in Medicine Interest Group Presents: A Community Conversation on 2SLGBTQ+ Healthcare
Queer in Medicine Interest Group Presents: A Community Conversation on 2SLGBTQ+
Healthcare
Join the Queer in Medicine Interest Group at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine
University (NOSMU) in Sudbury for a community meetup! This event will bring together
2SLGBTQ+ community members and NOSMU medical students for discussions about inclusive
healthcare.
- Location: Main Public Library, 74 Mackenzie Street, Sudbury
- Date: May 26th, 2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm
- In-person event
Attendees can submit anonymous questions in advance—either for medical students or fellow
community members—to guide the discussion on affirming and responsive care for 2SLGBTQ+
patients in the North. Facilitated by Cynthia Larche and Chelsey Pilon, this conversation will
address these questions in a safe space. Together, we will discuss challenges and envision
improved healthcare practices.
We also want to hear from you! Our submission form will be available before, during, and after
the event to collect community feedback on the medical experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals
in Northern Ontario. Your input will shape future training at NOSMU and advocate for
meaningful changes in healthcare education. This is a unique opportunity to make your voice
heard, connect with community members, and help create a more inclusive healthcare system.
Local organizations, including Fierté Sudbury Pride and Réseau ACCES Network, will be on-site
to share information about their services. For more information or to support this event, please
reach out!
